BR rubber, also known as cis-butadiene rubber, represents cis-1,4-polybutene rubber. This kind of rubber is a rubber with a regular structure obtained by solution polymerization of butene monomer under the action of a catalyst. Globally, it is the second most widely used synthetic rubber in the world after styrene-butadiene rubber.
The properties of BR rubber compounds include excellent elasticity, high abrasion resistance, superior low temperature resistance, low heat generation, good flex resistance and dynamic properties. However, nothing can be perfect, BR rubber compound also has some shortcomings, such as not being resistant to oil, slightly lacking processing properties in some aspects, unsatisfactory adhesion, and being sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. Therefore, it is often used in combination with natural rubber in production.
BR rubber compounds are widely used in the tire manufacturing industry and are also used to produce rubber hoses, rubber shoes and other products that require wear resistance.
